Horizon International School (HIS), the vibrant educational community nestled in the heart of Jumeirah, proudly celebrates the outstanding success of its alumnus Lewis McKenzie, who has been recognised OxfordAQA for attaining the Highest Mark in the World in A Level Geography.
The prestigious recognition was awarded as part of the attend OxfordAQA’s Go Further Awards 2025, which honours pupils who achieve the highest examination marks globally or regionally across a range of subjects at International GCSE and AS/A Level.
Having earned the highest mark in AS Level Geography in the UAE and Gulf Region last year, Lewis Mckenzie’s global recognition for this year’s A Level marks another remarkable milestone in his academic journey. As a dedicated alumnus of HIS, Lewis is known for his exemplary work ethic, curiosity and analytical thinking. His fascination with the interconnections between human and physical geography has driven his continued success in the subject.
Lewis is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Media at the University of Woolongong in Dubai, where he hopes to apply his geographical knowledge to explore sustainable solutions in the corporate sector.
Lewis, reflecting on his achievement, said: “Although I faced a fair few obstacles that tested me throughout my A-Levels, winning this award has shown me that with hard work and the continuous support of my amazing teachers and family around me, pretty much anything is possible including being best in the World!”
As part of this recognition, Lewis attended the OxfordAQA’s Go Further Awards Ceremony, where outstanding students across the Gulf region will be recognised for their top results.
