Giles Pruett, Executive Principal at Arcadia British School and Member of the Board of Governors at Arcadia Education, said, “We are immensely proud of our GCSE cohort and the results they have achieved. It is very rewarding to see how they have developed over the course of their journey at Arcadia British School. These results are a testament to their resilience and hard work, as well as the dedication of our parents and teachers. The outstanding results give them a strong foundation as they step into Sixth Form and explore the career pathways that interest them.”
Michael Strachan, Head of Secondary School at Arcadia British School, said, “These results are a fantastic achievement by our students and something we are all very proud of at Arcadia British School. We have seen them become more confident in their abilities, take greater ownership of their learning and challenge themselves academically over the course of their GCSEs. What is particularly pleasing is to see that effort translates into strong results across so many subjects. It has been a privilege to guide them to this point, and I am very proud of what they have achieved.”
Top-achieving student/parent testimonials:
Jeni’s father speaking on his daughter results said: “Her teachers guided her very well, and she coped well. Earlier, she was with CBSE, and in Grade 6 she moved to IGCSE. She coped well and finally achieved the results.
Jeni’s mother further added: “We trusted her wholeheartedly and left it to her instincts. Whatever she wanted to do, we let her do. We were just supporting her morally, that’s it.”
Speaking on the resilience of the past few months leading to the examinations, Nishna said: “It was quite difficult, but the teachers here are very supportive, and we have close relationships. There was constant reassurance that we would just do the exams, everything would be fine, and that we should revise within our capacities. It felt much easier when we had those conversations. So, that pulled me through.”
Nishna’s father also exclaimed: “She was obviously very nervous throughout the days, especially during the conflict, when the schools were closed and all that. She wanted to sit her exams, but she was not sure what would happen if the grading system changed, or if the papers had to be sent by post and all that. She was very nervous about that. But, as she said, I think the school was really supportive, and that helped us as well. We were constantly talking to the management here and the teachers. There was constant communication flowing, which helped us a lot.”
Speaking on academic disruption and dealing with uncertain times, Arcadian Ryotaro who scored three grade 9’s, and four grade 7’s said, “The conflict in the region made studying very difficult because we were forced to move online, which meant we had limited resources and fewer opportunities to push ourselves. However, the students helped one another through social media and by teaching and supporting each other across screens. Our teachers also supported us by providing additional resources and tasks so that we could work towards achieving the highest grades possible.”
Speaking on receiving her results, Arcadian Seba said: “ I was quite nervous before, but when I opened my results, I felt like all the hard work I had put into everything had actually paid off. I am quite content with my results. I achieved higher than a seven in most of my subjects, including Biology, Chemistry and Maths, which I need for A Levels. I’m happy that I got what I needed in those subjects.”
