Bloom World Academy (BWA)hosted the Dubai regional STEAM Champions UAE 2025/2026 on 14 February 2026, welcoming 252 students from 13 schools to compete acrossRobotics & Drones, Project-Based Learning (PBL), and Arts & Humanities. The Dubai event formed part of a wider national programme bringing together young innovators to apply technology and interdisciplinary thinking to contemporary challenges.
Organised by EduStream in collaboration with international partners ENJOY AI (China), IGO (UK) and WSRO (South Asia), the internationally recognised competition is delivered as a UAE regional initiative across all seven Emirates, with stages held on separate dates. Now in its third edition, STEAM Champions UAE focuses on food security, sustainability and innovation, challenging KG to Grade 12 students to tackle real-world issues through artificial intelligence, robotics and creative problem-solving.
The Dubai regional stage at Bloom World Academy was attended by H.E Dr Abdallah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Consultative Council and former UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment and Infrastructure Development, who shared his support for youth-led innovation in sustainability, stating:“I was deeply impressed by the vision, organisation, and commitment demonstrated in STEAM Champions competition at Bloom World Academy. It reflects an important evolution in education, one that moves beyond traditional models and aligns learning with innovation, responsibility, and sustainability. Some of these ideas may evolve into impactful, sustainable innovations, representing a strategic investment in our nation’s long-term prosperity. These young students are not only learners today, they are the future leaders and innovators who will shape a more sustainable world.”
BWA achieved notable success in the Project-Based Learning (PBL), Challengers category, competing against 23 other teams and securing two major distinctions.Grade 8 students Abbas Hadjighasem and Mahmood Alameri were awarded 1st Place and named “Champions of the Year” for their project, ‘Root2Retail’. The team developed a blockchain and IoT-powered traceability system designed to increase transparency across the food supply chain.Through AI-driven monitoring and predictive alerts, the solution aims to reduce spoilage and strengthen food security.
In the same category, fellow Grade 8 students Omar Askar, Sarth Dutta, and Thomas Wall received the “Best Creative Builders Award” for their project, ‘Smart-iliser’. The project presents a bio-intelligent fertilisation system integrating natural nutrient cycling, gravity-fed irrigation, solar energy and AI-based plant monitoring, offering a scalable approach to sustainable agriculture in desert environments.
Further recognition was achieved and awarded to BWA’s teacher, Ms Huma Deshmukh, Lead Practitioner: Digital, Computer Science and AI at Bloom World Academy, who received the STEAM Champions “Best Teacher Award”.

In 2026, STEAM Champions brought together more than 1,620 students from 109 schools, supported by 45 judges and attracting over 3,000 visitors nationwide. Where the programmealigns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, SDG 2: Zero Hunger as well as the UAE National Food Security Strategy 2050.
Through hosting leadership and student achievement, Bloom World Academy demonstrated its continued emphasis on interdisciplinary learning rooted in practical application and national relevance.
