House Of Pops Delights Dubai Schools With Its Happy Healthy Ice Pops

House of Pops is Dubai’s leading provider of healthy, happy pops – frozen treats on a stick.

Now, as part of its mission to deliver fresh, healthy and super tasty treats to everyone, the UAE’s leading homegrown frozen treat company is joining forces with Dubai Municipality’s Food Safety division and Beetle & Goliath, a consumer engagement and experiential agency, to give its pops to school children in Dubai.

The 100% natural fruit pops – most made with just five natural ingredients or less – will be given to lucky students at Dar Al Maarefa Private School, Al Mawakeb Al Barsha and the Global Indian International School this month, as part of a Municipality scheme to educate children about good health, entitled “My Health is My Wealth”.

The education programme is designed to deliver information and build awareness regarding healthy eating, food safety and hygiene. The programme runs in tandem with National Child Obesity, Global Hand-washing and World Food Month, and encourages the community to take action with their own health and food safety.

Marcela Sancho, co-founder of the disruptive dessert company, says: “This programme has fantastic synergies with our brand mission and aims. We want everyone to be able to enjoy a treat where and whenever they like, guilt-free. You can give your kids a House of Pops treat happy in the knowledge there’s no nasty additives or ingredients.

“Our pops are handcrafted right here in UAE with love, contain no artificial ingredients, colouring or preservatives, are plant-based, and super tasty! And our packaging is plastic free It’s a win-win for parents and children!”

Modern treats are often laden with extra sugar, fat and additives to make them more colourful and attractive to consumers. The ‘My Health is My Wealth’ campaign. Now in its second year, aims to educate our children about some key aspects of healthy eating, food safety and hygiene to help ensure better health in future generations.

National statistics from the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) show many of the leading causes of death in the UAE can be attributed to poor diet, including heart disease, stroke and diabetes. Across the UAE, salmonella and other types of food poisoning often occur in the home due to lack of knowledge and care in food preparation.

House of Pops mission to provide healthier treats fits perfectly with the Municipality campaign.

The event concludes in late October with an Inter-School competition at Children’s City in Creek Park, which includes health-themed contests such as art, dance and spelling. A House of Pops Happiness cart will be on hand at the event, handing out free samples, to ensure everyone stays full of energy, happy and hydrated throughout the competition.

Sancho concludes: “If we give our kids a chance to better understand nutrition – and the chance to try a delicious, plant-based treat that delivers real food and great nutrients, we are helping the future of this great nation – and that’s a fantastic feeling.”
